Why I Don’t Care About Most Spiritual Matters?
I am so sick and tired of religion in general, and unfortunately mankind is responsible for this terribly confusing mess we have. I get phone calls or e-mails where people want to talk about this issue or that issue and want to know my stand. Well, today I want to completely level the field of religious issues and tell everyone exactly where I stand.
I DON’T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THE RELIGIOUS ISSUES THAT MOST PEOPLE ARGUE ABOUT!
I don’t care if you are gay. I don’t care if you’re an alcoholic. I don’t care if you’re an adulterer. I don’t care if you’re a murderer. I don’t care if you’re a Christian. I don’t care if you’re a Muslim. I don’t care if you’re a saint. I don’t care if you’re Mother Teresa. I don’t care if you’re a Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Mormon, or any other particular brand of religion. I don’t even care if you’re a democrat or republican. I don’t care if you cuss or have a great vocabulary. I don’t care if you steal or pay every tax you owe to the penny. The bottom line is that when it comes to man’s performance concerning the laws of God, I just don’t care.
Now here is the reason I don’t care about any of these things: They have nothing whatsoever to do with weather God loves us or not or why I should love anyone. Jesus Christ did not go to the cross (which was the ultimate example of love) because of something good we had did or something bad we had did. He went to the cross to demonstrate his love for us regardless of our performance. THAT IS DIVINE LOVE. THAT IS HOW OUR FATHER LOVES US.
Rom 5:6-8 6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Christ came to take us out of the law of sin and death and deliver us over into His kingdom of light and love. He came to show us how to love and unfortunately mankind has made a complete mess of His example. Study his life and you will see how people of all walks of life flocked to Him because they felt this unconditional love. Paul tells us it is the only thing we owe to each other.
Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Now we don’t always pay what we owe, but remember Christ paid the full debt of love for every single man or woman that has ever lived or ever will live on this earth. Yes, he encourages us to also walk in this divine love because he knows this is where real peace is found as we journey on this earth. I can say with a great deal of passion that when I quit caring about all the above issues and just started loving people by the power of His grace I found such a peace that testified to my heart that I was where I needed to be spiritually.
I am not trying to say that I completely understand or always practice this divine love, but it has given my life real meaning and purpose that gets me up each new day with a smile. Walking this journey of love is different for each one of us because all of our circumstances are different, but when we quit judging each other and start loving each other we really start to live. Paul also gave us a wonderful start on defining this divine love:
1 Cor 13:4-8 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.
So, for me, I will continue to believe that Christ loves every one of us based on who HE is rather then on what we’ve done. I will also continue to strive to love like he does, without judgment or bias. And for all the rest of mankind’s religious issues, well, I think you know how I feel.

Hi cliff, lets make it personal my friend.By saying this i mean the doctrines and traditions of men.No matter why we like it or not we where part of it all.Blinded by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, even when we acepted christ as our savior. To many what i’am saying here might not make sence to them. But let me say when comming to faith in christ a great burden was lifted of me.And that burden of sin was lifted of me by the grace and love of God in christ. As the hym says,LOVE lifted me love lifted me when no one but christ could help love lifted me.I just wanted to share this love that is all i wanted to do.But as i journed on in my walk with God i began to see the tree of the knowledge of good and evil still in place in peoples hearts and minds.Mine also by the way cliff. Can i say the doctrines and traditions of men was so heavy and thick,i losted sight of the love of God in christ. The devision was so clear to me i could not bear it anymore.Who had the truth, who was right what church was the right church, etc etc,
The book of hebrews tells us of a great cloud of wittness to the truth of the gospel proclaimed by the prophets.
But then i could only see a great clould of confussion.
Then one day the spirit of grace in christ began to teach me of the true gospel of jesus christ and how he had indeed redeemed the entire world. The devine love of God began to burn in my heart and mind again. Some days i just could not contain it. Day after day month after month the spirit of grace began to show how everything in christ has been freely given to us all for whom christ tasted of death for.heb2v9.
As you have said cliff, when we clearly understand this Love was for all.that is when we find peace and rest. And the fruit of the spirit comes to us naturally as we behold his love for all.
We have all been acepted in the beloved and that was when he cryed out it is finished.Let us with one accord proclaim this goodnews to all. That the cloud of confussion has indeed been lifted and that it has been replaced by another great clould of wittnesses to the love of God our father through his spirit of grace that is in christ jesus our Lord.
Thankyou cliff for this post again it is filled with the knowledge of his great love for us all.

I hear where you are coming from on this Cliff and I do agree with your comments. I have found that most people out there want all of this to line up to fit their particular denominational stance. The good news of this gospel is so out of the box and so beyond our wildest imagination that this is an impossible task. I am only beginning to grasp all that you and others are proclaiming in regards to the full scope of the cross but all I can say is I have more hope than ever for the future and for the destiny of mankind. I just need to realize as much as I can the Lordship and Power of Jesus Christ and His unfailing love for all. Yes Cliff I can now believe JESUS truly is the Saviour of the world and I rejoice in this fact. Now I am free to love all people regardless of where they are at or what they are in. This is the greatest challenge for me but after all it is part of the greatest commandment according to Jesus.
If only we could all avoid meaningless arguments and such over doctrine and simply practice accepting and loving one another how much better off we would be. As you say Cliff in quoting the word, Love never fails.
This, my friend, is one of the best posts or articles that I have read anywhere. You are dead, or should I say “Life”, on.
If I were to be religious and felt I needed a “leader”, I would hope to find one with your heart. Good stuff bro.
There is one thing we can count on. Love never fails and He (Love) will never leave us or forsake us.
Again I say…good stuff!!!

I like what Paul said, “I no longer know any man after the flesh, but only though the Spirit of Life”!
GOOD NEWS!
Peace
Geo
Amen!
’nuff said.
Thanks to all for visiting and making comments. The message of love, grace, and peace is really all that’s important in this very difficult world. I am grateful for all of you who are striving to help mankind find relief rather then condemnation.
This was a beautiful post, Cliff! One that everyone should read. Thanks!
Thanks Michelle. Good to hear from you. I hope you are having a great summer.
