What Is The Mark?

In my last post we talked about "missing the mark" (G264). So what is or was the "mark" that we miss and thus we are declared "sinners" (G264)?

This as far as I can tell this is the"mark"…….

Joh 13:34  "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. (Jesus)

Joh 13:35  "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."  (Jesus)

Joh 15:12  "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. (Jesus)

Joh 15:17  "This I command you, that you love one another.  (Jesus)

When we fail to love ALL no matter who or what they are then we "miss the mark" (G264) It is ONLY when we fail to love that we are "sinners" (G264)

There is NO OTHER sin (G264) since the Cross than this.

Love

Geo

    Very good post again george.

here is some verses to ponder also.

1john 2v2,..And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 john 2v12,..I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

1 john 3v5,..And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1 john 4v10,..Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Rev1v5,..And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

As ijohn 4v10 lets us know.Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, Now because of his lovce being manitested in our hearts and minds we can love him and others as he loved us all.

    G&P,
    kenneth.

And the good news is that even this sin is covered by his precious blood. Amen Geo.

    Thanks Kenneth!
Those are some of my favorite verses.

    Cliff,
Yes it is. The point also is that what we have traditionally thought of as “sin”
is not against God. “The Sin” (G266) that was against God and none of our doing in the first place was covered by Christ Blood also without any of our doing.

    Peace
    Geo
