Life Without Sin!

If someone were to ask me “Just what is at the root of your happiness?”, I would have to say “The realization that the power of sin is no longer a consideration in my life.”  Unfortunately the organized church is still preaching a message of sin and it’s power but the reality is that sin and it’s power has been defeated.  Paul said:

Rom 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Well, the church is going to have to make its mind up weather we should be under law or under grace.  It really is that simple.  For me sin is no longer an issue because my mind has been saved from the illusion of sin.  I think that’s what John was talking about in the following scriptures.

1 John 3:1-6  1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.  4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.  5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.  6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

When John said: “Whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him”, I believe he was talking about people who are still living in the illusion that sin has some sort of power over us, but the reality is that he defeated sin and all it’s power at the cross making us all ONE NEW MAN in Christ.  We are PERFECT and the sooner we realize that the sooner we can enjoy a peace even in this life that is indescribable.

Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Did you get that?  The law made NOTHING perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope DID.  WOW!  The better hope DID bring perfection and that’s a power we can all live by.

Phil 3:14-15  14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

And even if I understand something in my mind that is less then perfect GOD SHALL REVEAL EVEN THIS TO ME.

Life without sin is not only possible it is truly the ONLY reality.

What does man need saved from?

Answer:  From any message that teaches the Power of Sin over the Power of Grace.

For me and my house, we trust in God’s PERFECT LOVE FOR ALL.

Great post Cliff. I love Hebrews 7:19 which makes it so clear that in order for anything to be perfect, “the bringing in of a better hope did”. This is huge and not realized by too many (if any) in the organized church system. Great reading to say the least.

All of us “miss the mark”. God didn’t create us perfect. So, isn’t it nice to know that “missing the mark” doesn’t keep us from an initimate relationship with him; a relationship so close that duality (me/him) is done away with, and we become one with him.

Cliff, you’re such a radical revolutionary! Don’t you know that religious people will kill you (at least in their minds) for talking like this? ;-)

I’m more and more convinced that, when Jesus spoke of “repenting”, he was talking about turning away from the belief that God is holding your trespasses against you. REPENT! Stop thinking that God separated Himself from you because of your shortcomings! REPENT! Change your mind about God and open your mind to His grace… His full, complete, unfailing, unfaltering, pure, amazing grace! REPENT!!! STOP THINKING THAT GOD IS ANGRY WITH YOU!

    HE’S NOT!

Roy, you are so right, very few people see this verse and understand the perfection that is being taught.

DonR, I’m not sure that we weren’t created perfect? I tend to think our “missing the mark” was only in our minds and that’s why salvation is of the mind.

Hey Bruce, If I’m a radical revolutionary then your my four star General.

Mindy, You go girl! Bruce does Rock.

Kenneth, I agree we all have the full armor and it feels so good.

I am seeing that indeed the ultimate requirement is perfection. I believe this is quite evident in Jesus statement, ( Be ye therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect). How else is this even remotely possible if indeed it isn’t accomplished for us in Christ.
As you have said so well in this post Cliff, because of the amazing thing that happened in the power of the cross the power of sin has been broken and defeated. The great illusion is that sin still has power over us , but the reality is He defeated sin and all its power and made one new man out of us, in Christ. What a statement and worth repeating. The illusion that you speak of ofcourse has to do with the mind and thats why we need our minds renewed to have the mind of Christ.
The other side of the coin is that we become sin conscious only and this will always lead to defeat. For the most part this is still a huge part of the message that is preached, no wonder people are in such a mess.
Powerful post my friend, have a great day.

Cliff- Maybe your right about perfection. We were created for a perfect relationship with Him. I know, however, that doesn’t always occur in my life. But, that doesn’t matter to Him and it shouldn’t matter to me. His love is perfect even when mine isn’t.

Great post Cliff. Seeing ourselves as complete in Christ, with no need to add any of our own law & performance based righteousness, is at the heart of us understanding who we really are. When God created us and said “it is very good” He seemed to be expressing how perfect we were (and are) in His eyes. May we all see as He sees and refuse to any longer eat from the religious based tree that brings death to our minds.

    Don,
I understand completely. It doesn’t always occur in my life either, but it feels good to know that “his love is perfect even when mine isn’t.” I loved that.
    Thank you :)
