Remember This?

Now I’ve been happy lately
Thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be
Something good has begun
I’ve been smiling lately
Dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be
Something good’s bound to come

For out on the edge of darkness
There runs the peace train
Peace train take this country
Come take me home again

Peace train sounding louder
Ride on the peace train
Hoo-ah-eeh-ah-hoo-ah
Come on the peace train
Peace train’s a holy roller
Everyone jump upon the peace train
Hoo-ah-eeh-ah-hoo-ah
This is the peace train

Get your bags together
Come bring your good friends too
Because it’s getting nearer
Soon it will be with you
Come and join the living
It’s not so far from you
And it’s getting nearer
Soon it will all be true

Peace train sounding louder
Ride on the peace train
Hoo-ah-eeh-ah-hoo-ah
Come on the peace train

I’ve been crying lately
Thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating?
Why can’t we live in bliss?

For out on the edge of darkness
There rides the peace train
Peace train take this country
Come take me home again

Peace train sounding louder
Ride on the peace train
Hoo-ah-eeh-ah-hoo-ah
Come on the peace train

Come on, come on, come on the peace train…

This could be the Bold Grace Anthem!
It’s funny that a Muslim understands the grace & peace of Jesus more than most Christians do.

    Get On Board!

    Peace

I like that “out on the edge of darkness” line.

I think, for the most part, christianity is in darkness. I know it will make people cringe to hear me say that. But, the more I look back on the “religious” part of my life, that’s what I see. It’s all about twisting the message of the Cross into something that is so complex and complicated that we NEED them to help us sort it out. Can you say “job security”? But, worse yet, people are missing out on the incredible freedom and peace that the truth of Christ yields. It’s a shame, and a sham. But so many have bought into the lie - hook, line, and sinker. They’ve swallowed the whole thing in one big gulp. It has become a part of who they are, to others, and to themselves. They trust the lie more than they trust the Christ.

I would agree with that statement bruce. Its good to be free from those mind games and have our eye be single and full of light when we behold the SAVIOR OF THE ENTIRE WORLD.

Can someone post this for me on the main page. I have no idea who wrote this poem, but when I ran across it today it was as if someone heard what my heart needed to say and If I could shout this out on a mountain top I would. Internet will have to do.

If I could give my mom the world
    Or anything she wanted,
I’d give her my own heart and soul
And leave my own heart haunted.
I’d take upon myself her life
With all its strife and pain,
And let her ease into some space
    Where she could live again.

The pain for me would not be pain,
    At least not for a while;
For I’d be doing it for her,
And I would see her smile.

I wish that I could take her heart
And cleanse it with my tears,
And make her sorrow go away,
    And answer all her fears.

    I wish, I wish, but then I can’t,
    As I watch helplessly,
And take her in my arms and say
I wish that it were me.

But loving is a hard, hard way,
With all the pain it brings.
And yet there is no other way
To touch the heart of things.

Wow George, you need to have your son put some music to this. It really would make a great anthem.

    Get on board……EVERYONE!!!

BTW, I have shed a few tears over the way the world is and the thought & hope of how this gospel of peace is going to change it.

    Steve,
The song already has music! It is the song PEACE Train by Cat Stevens!
Remember? That is why I said a muslim (Cat Stevens) sometimes understands the gospel more than christians

    Peace
