Right on!. Being "good" is the deception. God through Christ reveals the perfection that is (to paraphrase Nietzsche) beyond good and evil.

You are so right Cliff. It is the accusing and excusing that exposes the hypocrisy of so much of modern Christian religious thinking and causes the non-religious to reject this false image of the Savior.

Wonderful thoughts, Cliff!

It reminds me of something I often used to say (shortly after I was pushed out of organized religion)... "Traditional Christianity teaches us to see evil and fight against it, but by the grace of God, I choose to see good and embrace it."

Such a simple change in my thinking changed my life so dramatically. Surely God is in this!

"Christians especially have been taught to accuse and excuse. They accuse others and excuse themselves."

That says it so well and it is so true. I know I have been guilty of that and still am at times as it's something that has been patterned into most of us through religion for years and years. I thank God He is showing me and leading me away from such as that. It is death to eat out of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but life when we see the "Tree of Life" and feast on there.
