Woe To You!
This morning as I was getting ready for work this was over heard from the TV Preacher. He said,
"The world has NOT seen the Wrath of God! We have NO idea what the WRATH of God will be or look like!"
WOW! I guess that what happened on the Cross was just a prelude!? WHAT A CROCK OF UNBELIEF! That this so called minister of the so called gospel was preaching! He was in my estimation one of the reasons that the world cannot believe in Jesus. Not only that, this message that he and the great majority of modern day christianity teaches in in truth ANTI-CHRIST! Tha’s right I said ANTI-CHRIST! How is is anti-Christ? Because they DENY the power of the Cross by including man’s decision in the Redemption Story. Thank God I am no longer a believer in my own faith having anything to do with the wonderful lavish Grace of Redemption. I am a believer though in the faith of Jesus Christ! And even that belief does not Redeem me. But it does save my soul i.e. my mind, will and emotions. So I say to you mister TV Preacher of unbelief in the FAITH OF CHRIST, Repent! and come to a knowledge of the completeness of the Cross of Christ. Repent of your degrading of that same Cross by your insistance that man accept it. You see mister TV Preacher, if one must make Jeus Lord then that would make the one who made Him their personal Lord and Savior GOD!
And GOD mister TV Preacher you ain’t!

Cliff, I know what you feel when you here this kind of preaching. Something screams within us against this misrepresentation of the gospel. If I may I just want to share a statement that I read this am.
( God so loved Man, when his fall was forseen, that he chose him to Salvation in Christ Jesus, before the foundation of the world. When man was actually fallen, God was without all wrath towards him, so full of love towards him , that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to redeem him. I wanted to share this quote on your blog and little did I know it would fit in quite nicely with your blog today. To continue to see God as a God of continual wrath , can’t be the God of my soul, for I feel nothing but love from Him. To promote Him otherwise is truly sad.

It’s really very sad that we think God must be angry at people all the time. Why is it so hard to believe that Christ died for all. “Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”

Couldn’t agree with you more. It is so sad that most of the world has been deceived into believing this nonsense about our loving God and Father. Talk about the “father of lies” and his only power is in this great lie.
When the truth of His true character and nature are seen through the real good news it will dramatically alter the thinking of this whole world and result in such a terrific new view of the future….one full of hope and peace. It is going to happen and all of the lies that the deceiver can drum up and propegate through the religions of the world will NOT stop it. It is impossible that God’s plan of redemption of this whole world not be fulfilled as His glory fills this earth as the waters cover the sea. It is as surely as He lives.

By the way, Bev and I will be in Dallas for the next few days to attend Christy’s graduation this weekend from the University of Texas (masters degree…and I am so proud of her). Hope to meet with Don Rogers & Chappy while there.
I’ll catch one of those fear preachers once in a while when I’m flipping channels. All I can do is sit there and shake my head side to side, then change the channel. And people ask me why I’m so bitter about religion and religious people.
WOW. (And I mean that in a good way.)
I am to the point of smiling when I hear these poor people and their deluded message. It is what it is. We can do our own part to dispell the futility of the message they bring, but I no longer get angry. It serves no purpose for me. I know their message is anything but a reality. Perhaps someday (soon) they will realize the folly of their beliefs.

It’s sad that the real “woe” is in feeling unaccepted and working to create a context where other people feel that way too. It’s a horrible way to live. In fact, it’s no life at all.
That’s why grace, Good News, and Love are so vital. Thanks for talking about it, for giving people hope, for contributing to a New World.

I know what you mean, Don. But, don’t forget - these people have been placed in a position of power where they have a big influence on people’s understanding of God. It’s a shame that their power to control and manilpulate is more important to them than seeing people set free of their doubts and fears. It really is hideous what they’re doing to people. Folks turn to them for answers, and they spew a message of anger, fear, and hatred instead of one of hope, peace, and love.
