Before Sin There Was Loneliness!
We have been taught for so long that our main human problem is sin, but is that really so? If the Garden scene is true then man’s biggest problem arrived before sin ever came into the picture. Listen to the account:
Gen 2:18-20God said, "It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion." So God formed from the dirt of the ground all the animals of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the Man to see what he would name them. Whatever the Man called each living creature, that was its name. The Man named the cattle, named the birds of the air, named the wild animals; but he didn’t find a suitable companion.
As you read the above it becomes clear that man’s first problem was one of loneliness. Even if man had never sinned he was also never going to be happy alone. Paradise in the garden would mean nothing without someone to share it with. We were created to make a connection with each other in order to find happiness on this earth. You can have the very best this life has to offer but without the ability to share it with each other it becomes meaningless.
I have come to believe that every single human being who walks this earth will walk in loneliness until he/she realizes the connection we have with each other. As Geo has pointed out we our 100% human and regardless of all the things that divide us we must come back to this all encompassing connection that we have if we are to ever find happiness on this earth.
I also think that we have no right to choose who we will connect with. Every person that passes my way is an eternal connection and it behooves me to see their value and treat them accordingly.
The bottom line for me is that when we understand what our biggest problem is then everything else will fall into place. Our biggest problem is loneliness which comes from not seeing the value in all the human race. God considers each of us to be of inestimable value and when we begin to see each other that way we will never again feel lonely.
The year is about to close and 2008 is upon us. Wouldn’t it be great if our New Year’s resolution would be to try our hardest to see the value in every single human being that we meet?

“Our biggest problem is loneliness which comes from not seeing the value in all the human race”.
So true Cliff!
I remember reading a quote by Mother Teresa. She was asked how could she possibly treat and help all of the masses in Calcutta? She responded, “Because I see the face of God in each and every person!” He is IN ALL,THROUGH ALL & TO ALL! He is US!
Peace & Happy New Year

That was .
Something I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
I had a chance yesterday to go a shelter and help out and as I looked around and listened to the people there, This same thought hit me these people are Gods children and He is in each of them.
I could see God in them and realized they are no diffrent than me and I also learnt a lot from them. They talked of Spirituality not religion and I have to say they knew what they where talking about. The many diffrent experiences that I heard share and how God was there to meet them.
Your right Cliff we are all connected
Geo you hit the nail on the head we need to see the value in people. I did see the value in these people and I have to admit I learnt from them what the true meaning of love was
Jennifer
Great Post, Cliff! Until we see the interconnectedness of us all, we will never make any sense of this whole existence. We are all a part of the same substance; that eternal entity that we call God, Yahweh, Allah, Source, and countless other names, is in us and we in IT. So, in reality, we can never be truly alone. It is only in our limited thinking that we feel alone. THAT loneliness can feel so, so real, but it is not.
Great thoughts by all….Geo, Jennifer, & Don……the most difficult step to take in our spirituallity is the step of truly allowing our self to die realizing that what we gain is ALL of God’s beautiful creation. WE ARE ONE!
“The year is about to close and 2008 is upon us. Wouldn’t it be great if our New Year’s resolution would be to try our hardest to see the value in every single human being that we meet? ”
No doubt, can you imagine this world if we all saw each others worth? If we allowed love to encompass all our thoughts, all our words and all our actions?
