The Power of Love!
There is no greater power than that of love. Regardless of the circumstances of life Love can change them. And the good news is that we all have access to that power in every single moment of our existence. Granted, we don’t use this power nearly as often as we should and often it takes a great tradgedy in life before we will call upon it.
But why do we wait for the tradgedy? Why don’t we develop this awesome power we have in our every day lives? Why can’t we wake up each new day knowing that LOVE is the energy that is behind every part of what we are?
I think the answer to these questions lies in not being aware of how weak our flesh is. Jesus said: "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." He was not passing judgement but rather reminding us of a fact of this travel that we are on. This suit we wear (our bodies) is full of limitations, but within this suit is a spirit that is perfect in every single one of us. In this spirit is the energy of LOVE that has the power to see us through every difficult step that we must take on this earth.
As I realize the limitations of my flesh I then can also realize the limitness of my beautiful spirit. My spirit is always willing to take the right path and I am learning every day to listen to it more and more. Paul says it this way:
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Rom 8:6
I think we humans spend a great deal of our life here on earth with our minds set on the flesh, listening to it’s needs and wants. It’s not that it is wrong to do so, because certainly the flesh does have legitimate needs that have to be tended to. The problem is: The more we tend to it the weaker we become and the emptier we feel. Over and over again we have seen our fellow travellers who have had every thing the flesh could desire and yet they still were not happy.
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.Eccl 5:10
Setting the mind on the flesh leads to slow death within. Not a death that leads to HELL but rather a death that leads us to a place where we can face our emptiness. God has allowed all of us to set our minds on this flesh so that WE CAN LEARN. Some learn early on and you can see it by their lives. These are the ones who are easily recognized by their LOVE. Their minds are set on the SPIRIT. Not some of the time, or just when they feel like it, but rather ALL of the time, and they have an aura around them that draws us to them.
We are ALL moving toward this NEW TYPE OF BEING. It is the second Adam, the Christ that will fill all. Jesus said : "If I be lifted up I will draw ALL men unto myself." The word "draw" in that verse is more correctly translated "DRAG". You see, he knew that most of us would never come on our own because of the weakness of our flesh, so he’s letting us know that He will get us to where we need to go even if it means dragging us there.
Again, as we approach this new year, let us all be reminded that THE MIND SET ON THE FLESH MEANS DEATH, BUT THE MIND SET ON THE SPIRIT MEANS LIFE AND PEACE.
We have such a short time on this earth to learn all the lessons we are suppose to learn. Let’s not waste even a single moment we have left. Set your mind on the Spirit that is fueled totally by the power of LOVE. Let the Christ within you have his way now. He’s going to have his way regardless, so why not let him fully live in this very moment.
We are ALL redeemed, but we are not all saved. That simply means there are many of us who still have our minds set on the flesh, and need saved from a way of thinking that will rob us of life and peace in the here and now. The mind set on the Spirit is simply a mind that has fully embraced the power of God’s perfect love. The mind set on the Spirit needs no law or spiritual guidance to know how to live. It is a power that is freely given to all. Preachers and religious leaders are very much afraid of this power because those who tap into it will no longer need their services and they will be out of a job.
Christ came to reveal this great LIGHT to all mankind. We ALL have the POWER OF LOVE within us and regardless of our choices this power will never leave us. I believe there will be a moment in time that this power will be revealed to every human being, but the message of Christ is "WHY WAIT?"
RISE UP IN THE MORNING AND SET YOUR MIND ON THE SPIRIT. LOOK WITHIN AND BE AMAZED AT WHAT YOU WILL FIND.

I’m am interested in something you said in this post. I see that you say:

How did you arrive at the conclusion that we are here to learn lessons? Is this from Biblical verses or another source? I am “In Search of Truth”, and am truly interested where your idea comes from. I have heard several other ideas about why we’re here and am seeking your ideas. Thanks Cliff for providing posts which make me think and inspire me.
Don R……I arrived at this conclusion based simply on examining my own creation with all of our common experiences. From the time we’re born or even before we are born the one common thing about us is that we start learning. We learn even if don’t want to. We learn from the worst of choices and from the best of choices. I am convinced we are placed here on earth with a beautiful spirit within to find out something extraordinary and if that is so then whatever is next for us will need this learning. It’s what gets me up each new day with excitement for what I might learn next, and about the time I think there’s nothing more to learn life always has a way of showing me how very little I really know. I also find Jesus to be a fasinating teacher came not only to redeem but also to teach……help us LEARN. There are many great teachers who have come and gone but He has taught me the most.

I agree that we are born learning. You touch something hot and get burned then you usually try not to touch it again (not on purpose anyway.) Why don’t you touch it again? Because it hurts? Do I want to live in pain or do I want to live happy and in peace? In order for me to know and understand I have to experience it whether I want to or not. What is the point of living if I already know how to live it. What a boring life that would be. I have recognized lately that I need the pain, the heartache, the love and the freedom to keep moving forward. Some don’t want to move forward SO, ok… then don’t. It is your choice and your choices have NOTHING to do with mine. I want to. I want the love and the pain. I want to understand each step I take. Each step I learn from I become more and more filled up. Yes, my cup runneth over.
In the end it is me and God. Along the way it is me and my experiences and for me I want to experience this to its fullest potential. I don’t need to know the answers anymore…if I am suppose to need the answers then I trust my heart will tell me.
I know learning is very important and we grow as we learn but is that learning for the “afterlife” or is it just for how we live here while in this life here on earth?
I know this is a huge question and likely cannot be answered by anyone as we all have our own ideas about why we have to learn here.
However, I do have my doubts that I do have to learn something here that would benefit me in the world to come (whatever that involves) as I believe that then “shall I know even as I am known”. I guess I always looked at “then shall I know” even if I learn absolutely nothing here. Just my thoughts.
Do you believe that we still need teachers to open peoples eyes to the truth.

I believe God is really the only teacher but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t use many, many means to deliever his lessons, including people.
Roy, you are correct. That is a very big question and for me I do not need an answer. I can’t change the past and I can’t control the future, but what I can do is live in today. I don’t need any answers. I like the fact that this is all unknown. My life is filled with uncertainty’s and it feels good. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. For me this is describing life. It is the shadow of death. I will fear no evil for though art with me. He is always with me whether I know the answers or not and that is good enough for me. I do believe we keep coming back until we have learned as much as we can about love so if I come back again I will live even more then I have in this life.
Roy, As Mindy says there is no way of knowing what will come next but something in me says that what I learn today I use tomorrow, so it only makes sense to me that what I learn in this life will have meaning in the next.
I also, like Mindy think there is a real possibility that we come back time and time again to learn all we need to learn. I have absolutely no proof of that and whether it’s true or not will not change how I live today. What does matter to me today is to take in all that this day holds for me. I have always believed that LOVE is the secret to all of life and that’s why I teach all my children and grandchildren to follow this simple rule: LEARN TO LOVE, AND LOVE TO LEARN. This has been my motto for many years.

I am not sure what you mean by this. Come back to this life here on earth? Come back and re-live our lives over again? Reincarnation???
I am not bothered that I don’t have answers either as Mindy stated. I used to think I had all the answers but now see that over the past thirty years or so, the answers I thought I had and knew, I now see as something I didn’t know at all. So answers are not that important to me any longer because most are only man’s interpretation and when you ask someone else the answer changes.
But one thing I am fully settled on is that Christ came to redeem the entire human race and He did. I have no questions on that part and all other things I am not sure of are totally ok. I am fully at peace with redemption and I rest in that. The answers I don’t have are fine with me.
