I enjoyed participating in “Leave These Things Behind”; thank you for making it possible! You had asked me to send my testimony of how I came to my believe in the salvation of all, and it’s really a very short testimony. Almost two years ago I just happened to do a double-take on a verse I had seen a gazillion times before, 1 Corinthians 15:22, which says “Just as in Adam all died, so in Christ all will be made alive.” I really don’t remember just what it was that made me want to examine that more closely; up to that point I had been your basic fundamentalist evangelical Christian who was really into online evangelizing on message boards, etc. (especially sharing the gospel with Roman Catholics, of which I had been one before trusting Christ as my Savior). But one thing led to another and I quickly became convinced (to the dismay of my evangelical online allies) of universal reconciliation. :)

Just to let you know, I wasn’t able to listen to the show live, but have listened to it this morning. I really enjoyed hearing your voice, Cliff, as well as Monte’s. Now that you have identified Monte as your favorite cousin, Cliff, I just have one question for you: Who is your favorite girl cousin?! :)

It was interesting for me to hear where you are at this point in your life. I am at a slightly different place, as I still attend church on a regular basis and I still am unable to see Hitler and Sadam Hussein and people who hurt and torture others as perfect. And, I do know people who go to church and who are free of fear. Having said that, I know that it is not necessary to agree with you on everything in order to find common ground and to call you brother. I thank God for the completed work of salvation that we have in Jesus Christ!

I enjoyed hearing Monte’s comment about the term which means “the divine in me greets the divine in you.” That is something my yoga instructor says at the end of each class. The term is “namaste” and is quite a beautiful concept, is it not?!

I love you guys and am glad for this way of staying in touch. Namaste! :)

Hey Connie, of course you know I was really kidding with Monte…..You have always been my favorite cousin….ha ha

And I am so glad that you have an open enough mind to be willing to love without agreement. That’s the whole problem I have with organized religion is cutting off of fellowship with those they disagree with. I have never expected anyone to agree with me and in fact I love hearing different opinions. I am convinced that if we could put love first (just using Paul’s definition) we could all be united.

Anyway, always glad to hear from you. Your comments are full of wisdom and love.
