It would be easy for me to leave your words here for others to hear and have there hearts to fester in lies but I cant here. Maybe not anywhere. You begin with “PREACHING THE GOSPEL IS LOVING OTHERS”, and I feel that loving others is preaching the gospel for God said I am love. He didn’t say I am love but I am conditional, or I have my limits of acceptance. You go on to explain how one should love God by being obedient, then give an example of your love for your children being like Gods and how you beat them to make them better or talk to them in offending tone to encourage them to love your god through guilt and fear. You speak of Jesus living by actions not words but the actions you said Jesus showed were of love, not fear, hate, guilt. He used no rod to send his message of love but he was the same as his father. You leave absent in your post that all where given grace, forgiven of sin and known as one in Christ. You over look the spirit of Christ and only see the son of god and it is in that mind that you believe you can beat children into compliance of your bible. That we must choose him and I think we have always been chosen by him. You think sin produces death and the lack of sin gives life, and I believe that all sin and all are forgiven and death was the knowledge in the mind of man since Adam and life is in the hearts of man since Adam die on the cross. Lastly you preach that it is in the fear of god that we will refrain from sinning, and it is in our hearts we will know the truth but it is from your mind you regurgitate words from a bible that man has spoon feed you till you are blind to your heart as you walk in the separation of man with your final words “WE ARE TO WALK IN THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT! TOWARD EACH OTHER AND LEAD THEM TO JESUS CHRIST! You see yourself special and THEM DIFFERENT. You see yourself and others of your Mind walking towards each other and leading others to Christ? I remember going down the isle with a friend whom I believe God sent my way to give me confidence of going in front of people to answer the altar call. We both got born again, were counseled by same person, we were inseparable during that glorious moment. In the course of the week, we parted ways since we were in different jobs, but I remember taking seriously the advice I got from the counselor; we were told to confess by mouth that we got born again. And so I told all the friends I met that both my friend and I had gotten born again. Then we happened to meet a week later at a restaurant and I was shocked to see my friend ordering a beer. I had been delivered instantly and so, it didn't make sense to me that my friend was still DRINKING. Then she didn't look happy, in fact she was very annoyed with me and I was wondering what I had done. Then she couldn't hold anymore, and she blurted out that I shouldn't drag her in my affairs, she accused me that I have been telling everybody that we BOTH got born again! she continued to say that salvation is very personal and each should handle it our way and she is private... I was shocked, I was only following instructions to the letter. I didn't know what to say and I mumbled that I was sorry...then picked a book she had carried and opened absent mindedly and at the preface, the words from Matt22;14 were clearly written in small letters; ...many are called , but few are chosen...I was dumbfounded, and I watched her furiously gulping her beer down. Since then, my friend backslid, left the country; I heard she got in drugs, slept with any man, got in depression,got cancer etc and adamantly don't want to hear about the gospel. I tried praying for her, but in years I think I also stopped, but this verse brings back that memory, and kindly lets keep her in prayer. Conclusion; I think I can summarize this verse in context of that experience as follows; we have all been invited, but only few are chosen; why , because of the level of our commitment to God Commenting on the verse; Many are called ,but few are chosen, I can only recount my first experience when I got born again.
