That is remarkable, Geo. Thank you for making the effort to share this man’s plight with us. It amazes me how so many people are troubled and terrified by the “gospel of Christ”, when they could be set free from all their doubt and fear if they would only allow themselves to understand the truth of the gospel of grace and peace.

My heart goes out to that young man, who is being tortured by religious people and religious thinking. I pray for him “in Jesus name”, may he realize peace on earth, and the find freedom to live and move in the grace of the Kingdom of God.

All I can say Geo is WOW. You have outdone yourself on this one. I felt such love and pity at the same time for that man. Wouldn’t it be great if your small conversation caused him to open his mind for once in his life and see God’s unconditional love.

I came back through that way 3 hours later and he was standing in front of a church with his cross out front with his head bowed like he was praying for that church.

    Cliff,
I can tell you with confidence that he is ruined! After hearing the gospel for the first time I know it will work on his soul like nothing he has ever heard before. It may be years or decades from now but he is now on the path to freedom! I hope he gets there quicker instead of taking 30 years as I did! But either way he WILL get there.

    Peace
    Geo

Yes, “ruined” for self-righteousness and religious thinking, and that ruination leads to salvation of the mind and the freedom to enter the peace of God!

    YEAH!

Like cliff said he felt love and pity for the guy it’s true
What hit me is that I also believed like him at one time and would have answered the same.
But knowing what I know now it’s hard to believe I ever believed that way and goes to show only the Holy Spirit can show us.
Like George said Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
    That was awesome

I was amazed that he had no answer for anything you told him. The cross-carriers I’ve seen, and there are many in this area, all seem to have their “sermons” down pat. It’s almost like they handed him the cross and said, “start walking” How very, very sad it is. He won’t forget the meeting with you, I assure you. Who could forget meeting with Geo!!

WOW!!! is the only word I can think of. This is awesome and sad at the same time. I KNOW the religion that this fellow is a slave to. It steals, kills & destroys. It robs the soul of peace, joy, freedom, life….

I’m glad this fellow broke down mainstream Christianity into one basic sentence: “I have to…..I have to…..believe…..” At least he told it the way the churches preach it. Can’t fault him for trying to mis-represent.

I hope this encounter sets this young man on a path to finding true life & freedom, and that he embraces the gospel of grace and peace.

    Thanks for posting this!

Awesome George. I loved the gentle but firm way in which you simply shared the good news with him without any need to prove your self or convince him while fully accepting him. He will never forget your words. They hold the seed of true Life….a Life full of joy, peace and the righteousness of Christ.
