    Hello All

My wife and I enjoyed are fellowship this morning. We think you be a great group to sit around and chat with in person. Especially after a few pints ;). As far as Joe and his comment, hes like Icarus, he flies too close to the sun. First he was extreme with “his” Hate now hes extreme with “his” love. Im sure he will eventually find the middle way.

Just to let you know, I enjoyed listening to you all today (Monday). You show a generosity of spirit that is very beautiful. I have noted this in many of you before, and especially in Cliff today as he talked about the people where he formerly attended church. I am glad that you are able to speak without bitterness about that experience, Cliff. I enjoyed hearing you speak about your relationship with your father, too, Cliff. I think that one reason I am able to live without fear is because of the relationship I had with my dad. Though he preached from within a rather legalistic system, somehow he managed to be very grace-filled and contemplative in the midst of it. I guess that may explain, too, why I have escaped the negative experiences I have heard some of you (and others) describe as being present in the churches you have attended.

I chuckled when I heard about your tatoos, too, Mindy and Cliff. I don’t have any tatoos myself, as that’s just not my thing. But, my youngest son has several and lately sent me by e-mail a picture of his latest one - a bic lighter. I was puzzled by this, because, as far as I know, he doesn’t even smoke. When I asked for an explanation, he reminded me that, even as a child, he always enjoyed fire and, rather than having a flame tatooed, which is more commonly seen, he decided to have a picture of the incendiary device he most often has used. He also has a cow (on his rib cage) and when I asked “why?” on that one, he explained that it was to honor Papaw (my dad), who used to raise cows. I never know what to expect with him, but it keeps my life interesting, for sure!

It was interesting to hear an explanation of what you each believe about the three questions that were posed. My own journey has been greatly enriched by remaining open to the thoughts and experiences others have to offer. May God continue to bless each of you!
