What the Church Believes?

If one goes to Google and types in "What the Church Believes" they will get 548,000 hits.  Now we know that there are approximately 33,000 different brands of Christianity alone and most believe one thing in common, that those who do not believe in their teachings will go to a place of constant torment after they die.

How can any one of these churches ever teach that Perfect Love casts out all fear when they are teaching a love that is smothered in FEAR.  Is that really how God works?  Does he give us a message that says "Conform or Suffer".  Isn’t that like putting a gun to someones head and saying do what I say or else?

It is time that people who have been awakened to His Perfect Love speak up for this great and awesome God that we have.  Below are some fundamental things that I believe about God and will continue to share to all who will hear.

  1. God is LOVE.
  2. God loves us with a perfect love.
  3. God will not let any of his children down.
  4. God has provided a perfect process for our earthly lives that will have it’s perfect work completed.
  5. God will not have his plan changed by anything we do.
  6. God provides us all with constant guidance that leads us if we so choose.
  7. God will stand with us even when we don’t so choose to follow his guidance.

Now let me also say that at the root of all criticism that I receive is a lack of faith in a God like I describe above.  In others words,  the good news of the Gospel is such good news that Christians can’t believe it.  I hear all the time from my Christian friends the comment "Oh Cliff, I really wish what you say about God is true".   They are telling me that they wish it were true, but by what they have been taught God just couldn’t be that loving and kind.  WOW, that is so sad for me to hear and so wrong, but I understand that by their Gospel the good news is really not good news at all unless you live up to all the demands of the church.

The peace I have and those here at Bold Grace does not come from any thing we do or a set of beliefs we hold, but rather it comes from knowing God is truly a God whom EVERYONE can trust.

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

What the church believes is no longer a concern to me at.  Simply allow people to search their hearts about God and they will find great conflict between what their hearts say and what the church says.  I guess that’s why so many church leaders are so afraid of what I am telling people.  You see, I’m not telling people to trust me, I’m telling them to trust their hearts because that’s where they will find this PERFECT GOD OF LOVE.

AMEN TO THAT! i think that TBN will be shaking in their boots because less and less people will be giving money to their bi-annual beg-a-thon, which i noticed was on tv recently. But really, this hatred and fear the spews out of christianity is just way out of hand. I am so thankful to have figured out the truth about God’s love all by myself. Love never fails and i believe that God has and will never faile his own will and has/will never fail us.

Hi cliff, the believing issue is one that i come accross all the time.It is a major stumbling block to a lot of people.Yes our belief is important, because God is the savior of all men especially those that believe.God our Father has did a great work in the earth, and has already cut it short in his righteousness. The prophet’s all foretold of this day when the Savior would come to bear the sin’s of the entire world. And they also foretold of a day in which the judgement of God would come upon all, none would escape it.I know that day was the day of the cross. We used to sing a song called,”this is the day that the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it” we used to think that was a sunday morning. But the day as i have said, was the day of the cross, this is the day we should have all rejoiced in and had been glad in.As psalm 85v10 let’s us know,Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. What a beautiful foreshadowing of that great day.Yes we know jesus did come and yes we know Gods wrath came also on that day.Jesus cryed out on that day, when i will be lifted up i will draw all judgement unto me.So where were the entire creation when this took place?.We were all in the ark,the body of christ.Just like in the day of noah when the water’s covered the entire earth.God’s wrath was poured out on the body of christ. And we know when the water’s had gone the ark rested on the moutain,And all who where in it where saved,God’s wrath was revealed from heaven on that day,the day of the cross. And when it had passed, just like the ark was left resting on the mountain. The writter of hebrew’s let’s us know that jesus was left resting before the throne of God in the new heaven and the new earth. We where in him cliff, and we are still in him. This is what he want’s all to know. There is a rest for the children of God.Now does my believing make this true?,or does my believing this truth make a believer out of me.I think you know my answer to that question.Redemption was finished on that day.Let us continue to give God all the glory, for his love and grace to us all in his beloved ark, Christ jesus the Lord of all.
Perfect love cast’s out all fear. When we behold him on that day and great work of redemption he secured for us all.
God is love, and love never fail’s.

Thankyou for a great post cliff send my love to your family my friend.

I agree that “what we believe” is important, as long as “what we believe” is that it doesn’t matter what we believe about God… and that it only matters what God believes about us. And if we “buy into” the story of the Cross of Christ, then we can know that God believes in us!

What I find very unfortunate about most of we “Human beings”, is that we actually “believe” that we needed to be saved. Seems deep down inside we think we’re bad or not deserving. For whatever reason that seems to be the motivator behind almost all the faiths of the world. I wonder if we’ll ever get over that :(

John T, I happen to agree with you that our real problem is thinking we need saved when I think the reality is that we have always been OK with God. As Bruce says, when realize that what matters is what God thinks of us rather then what we think of ourselves we find peace.

Yes, “peace with God” is not up to us to establish. We don’t have that capabilty. But it is important for us to know that God has established it. Too bad the “church” doesn’t, or won’t, believe that.
