The Child in Me Loves the Child in You!

One of the great parts of being a school bus driver is the time you have off, like spring break.  Even though I really enjoy my time off there is also something very special about returning and that something special is my kids on the bus.

You see, they don’t care about my beliefs or what church I go to, they just love Clifford the Big Red Dog.  Yea, that’s what they call me sometimes.  Their sweet little smiles and constant laughter (that sometimes drives me crazy) makes my job the kind you want to return to.

I really think I know what Jesus meant when he said we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of Heaven.  Children are able to have a terrible fight one moment with another child and the next moment be best friends.  Children like to argue with each other and they like to win but the next day they won’t even remember what they were arguing about because it’s really not that important to them.

John T said something the other day that made me realize one of the great draw backs to blogging and that is that we can’t see each other face to face.  We can’t hear the voice of sincerity, or the eyes of empathy, or the heart that may be aching.   My children on the bus have won me over, not because of their words, but it is their smiles, laughter, tears, and the sweetness of who they are.

As I think about all of you that come to this site and offer their hearts, their wisdom, and their sincere comments, I want to always remember that behind those words you write are all the same wonderful things that I see in my children.  I may never hear your laughter but I know you laugh, I may never see your smile but I know it’s there, I may never know of your tears but I know we all suffer at times………..but one thing I know for sure is the sweetness of who you are.  Each of you that come to this site are my brothers and my sisters, God’s offspring.  Wonderfully made and unique in your own way.  Each of you bring something that someone needs to hear and for that I am grateful.

So, we may sometimes argue and fight, but I pledge to you that I will forget it tomorrow because the child in me loves the child in you.

Oh I love your nickname! That is awesome. It is a good thing to love your job, and it is even better when it is a rewarding job. I hope to have that kind of experience when I become a nurse. I am finishing my prerequisites to be accepted in the nursing program at my college at the time being.
I went to this website because my dad showed it to me and I kind of gazed. But then I came back and I look forward to seeing knew posts. You and all the others have some great words of wisdom and kindness. I really enjoy it. Maybe someone can edit the website so we can upload a picture of ourselves so we can put names to faces as we reply to the blogs (just a suggestion!)
I look at children in a whole new light now. I used to think kids were so lame and annoying. Then I had my son and now I see so much beauty not only in him but in the other children that I see in the grocery store or at the lake by my house. They are so sweet and I see God in them. I walked by a few people today at school and even as adults, I could see God in them. It is weird, I never saw this before, but these people are all children no matter what age, in a sense. We are all the children of God! I love it! My eyes are working so differently.

Some Wordpress themes have this feature built in; and in others, you can add it. It’s called Gravatars. (gravatar-dot-com for more info.)

Good suggestion Michelle and Shelly. Bruce takes care of our website and I know at present he is very busy but I will shoot him an e-mail about making this possible.

    thanks, real nice post,

sorry i just have to quote from a heretical Gospel,

    “Jesus said:

The man aged in his days will not hesitate to ask a little child of seven days about the place of life, and he shall live.

For there are many first who shall be last, and they shall become a single one.”

    (Saying 4, Gospel of Thomas)
