John T.....Remeber the Peace Jesus gives is not of this world. The world he was talking about there was the religious world of the Jews. The peace we find with him is when we understand regardless of what we do, say, or believe, he will never forsake us. It's amazing how when you really believe this it gives you a power to face all the obsticles of life. And if you don't believe it, it doesn't change anything except the peace you could have while living this life. LOL my brother.

John T.....I agree that everything we end up in our beliefs is based on our own experiences and assumptions. The bottom line is: Do we feel at peace in what we have chosen to believe? For me, the answer is YES.

Cliff

Of course you do. You belief is based on those assumptions. When I read those words though, I see something different. I guess in the end its all about perspective. I was thinking this morning, isnt it interesting how we only base our opinion of what Jesus was saying on approximately 3 yrs of his life. Boy would I have loved to know what he was like as a teenager. :)

John T......Jesus wondering why the Father's plan had to go down the way it did does not mean he didn't trust the Father. It's the same as when He asked the Father if the cup could pass, but his follow up showed that he did indeed trust the Father because He said, "Not my will, but yours be done." I believe it's quite appropriate in our thinking process to question which way to go because there are often several directions we can take that are all of them OK. I still believe his trust never waivered and neither did his PURE THOUGHTS.

Ahhhhh.....Cliff.........youre teasing me ;)

I had a few beers tonight so I had to make sure I read your words correctly. First thought that came to mind though was.

"Eli why hast thou forsaken me".

Did I get that right? Was Jesus wondering...."Why me?"

Human right to the end I guess.
