Jesus The Lazy (Unprofitable) & Wicked Servant
That’s right!!! If the Jesus that evangelical Christianity teaches is true and he only returns that which was given to him then Jesus will be CAST INTO OUTER DARKNESS!
If ALL things were given to Jesus by the Father as Jesus said they were and if He was given the heathen of the world as an inheritance as it says in Psalms and then Jesus only returns Heathens to the Father then Jesus is in His own words a Lazy (unprofitable) and Wicked Servant. Because he would only be returning that which was given and nothing else.
And this will be His fate!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matthew 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness

Geo, I moved this up to the top because it deserves discussion. It seems to have gotten passed over when all the discussion was happening on the other posts.

We’ll see!
Thanks

Ok Geo…
I know, you’re fishing for some hapless, defender of the faith evangelical, to rise up and take the bait in a determined attempt to straighten you out, right? Ha-ha, but we’re on to you, Geo!
We heathen now know we were chosen IN HIM, holy and blameless before the foundation of the world!!!
Actually… the great multitudes of people probably have no real concept of what Christ has done for them. So they remain in a darkness of trying to be spiritual.
However, from God’s point of view, it is written: “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied…” Isaiah 53:10-11
So, no… Jesus will not be cast into outer darkness… religion will.
AHHH! You caught me Abraham! hahaha!
Good response and I agree!

ALL: BOOK – The Secret Message of Jesus (uncovering the truth that could change everything) by Brian D. McLaren – would like opinions
Sue, I have not read it yet but it is a book I plan to get in the near future. What did you think of it?
Hey George!
We loved this article! Who would have thought THAT’S what this parable meant??? But now that you’ve shared it – it’s so obvious – it makes me wonder how we could not have seen it before.
I can understand how the revelation of Jesus Christ is likened to ‘a mystery’ or a riddle; we can puzzle and puzzle ourselves over the meaning of something, and then once someone whispers the answer we realize it was right under our nose the whole time. Isn’t the word incredible! We are constantly blown away as Jesus is being revealed to all those who dare look into the mysterious mirror of his image.
You look just like Him George! We love you.

Sue
I have not read it have you? If so please give us your thoughts and opinion on it.

I know what you mean. The day this thought came to me and I went back and read the passage again was a day that kept getting brighter and brighter. It excited me for days to think of it and in truth it excited me every time I think of it. Thanks for the comment I am so thrilled that you got the understanding of what I wrote.
Peace
Geo
I haven’t read McLaren either, but I hear he has some interesting things to say. I think he has a blog out there somewhere, or at least he did.
Cliff, Geo, Bruce, I just finished McLaren’s The Secret Message of Jesus.
It was an appropriate read after Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism.
Has anyone read “Jesus Against Christianity- Reclaiming the Missing Jesus” by Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer? A deeper challenge to separate the violence that describes God, even the death of Jesus on the cross, from a God of mercy, love, and grace. Please read – It will promote an interesting conversation! 353 pages/I’m only on page 45. Because he first loved us – Sue p.s. this is more interesting than McLaren book, in my opinion.
