What Are The Signs of Arriving?

I think most of us believe that we are on some kind of journey that is taking us to a destiny.  Just what that destiny is may be beyond our reach here on earth but I think we can begin to see the signs of arriving.  I would like to pose another question to our readers:

What are some signs in your life that make you think you are moving closer to your destiny?

I will begin.  For me I have noticed a major shift in how I feel about people who differ with me.  I have always felt it important to accept people who differ but in the last several years I have witnessed an almost apathy toward any need to be right or to prove positions of my personal belief.  I don’t mean to say my beliefs are not important to me because they are but they are mine and they don’t stand or fall because of what someone else might think.  I also think it’s God who shows us these signs when we are ready to see them and I can’t wait for the next sign to show itself.

WHAT SAY YOU?

I hear your excitement and anticipation Cliff, and indeed this feeling of expectancy is with many people I come in contact with in the ordinary path of living. I’m sure you are finding the same. In the main these people are open-hearted and humble and hungry for reality. They are fed up with the hollowness of this world, its trappings and its traditions and they are finding that relationships are where reality begins, truthful honest relationships. As a result of wanting deeper relationships, we listen better, we hear each other from a deeper place within us and we can connect with each other, spirit-to-spirit from that deeper place. We are able to go beyond those emotions, those pre-conceived ideas and those worldly expectations.

    Baptism.

In baptism I have been promised everything that God has to give to me.

I am already there. I can’t get any closer to God than Him putting His spirit into me in baptism.

There is no “religious” or “spiritual” journey wherein I must exert effort or sincerity to move closer to God.

(I had a visitor call whle I was writing so I’m finishing what I began to write above)
As we move more into the heart-mode, there is a softening of our will, there is less of us and it’s more about looking to relate on a deeper level with others. As we do this we begin to see a difference in the realms we operate from. A huge difference – in fact it is like two different worlds. We begin to discern where that person we wish to relate to is coming from, and instead of finding some way to ‘agree’ with them (head-mode, world-mode thinking) we point them to their heart, knowing that the same spirit in us is in them too.

Personally I’m finding if I ‘pick up’ on the things that touch my heart (with that person I desire to relate to) and leave aside or ignore the rest, the ‘way’ becomes open and clear, and there is unity. At other times that person (when operating from their ‘head’) may need to be directed to their heart. In most cases it will boil down to honesty. “Do you REALLY think that?” “Is that how you REALLY feel?”

Audrey, I really agree with coming to the realization that we truly are the same spirit but in different bodies and if we truly believe that we can begin to relate on a higher level of communication that leaves behind the trappings of this world.

For me, God is not the destiny that we arrive at, but I do think He is moving us all toward an amazing destiny that is beyond our comprehension in this present form. As far as being close to God, I think it’s the other way around……..He is always close to us.

    Audrey,

post by Audrey “jan 11 6:42pm.”

It’s nice to know that YOU are the one that is HONEST and need to direct others depending on how YOU perceive their ‘head’ & ‘heart’. YOU sure have a lot of power over others so I guess YOU are GOD?

YOU do ignore what some others write here, even when in answer to you, then proceed to spout off your own rhetoric thinking you and whoever agrees with you are the ones with all truth. Agreement does not = Truth.

Excuse me, I must be operating from my head.

My ‘destiny’ was decided before the foundation of the world. Before I was born human, into a world of knowledge to be learned and thought about. Knowledge of good and evil. With or without written material mankind collects knowledge of good and evil (right and wrong) by observing their surroundings and are influenced by the culture and conditions in which they find themselves. We are to be of one ‘mind’ but are individuals. One mind to me means we are all in the same boat and the boat IS destiny. (before – during and after – in time and outside of time) The boat is GOD.

God said he created/made/formed me in his image, his shadow, his likeness – he said this while making us from the dust of his creation. I will not dishonor the human form by counting it nothing. I am an individual who will die and be born (brought back) with my body and my spirit (who I am) intact. My body (while in its rest – unseen) waits – my spirit given to me by God is held in HIS care until the appointed time. I don’t need more enlightenment to understand that. While I am here I will honor God with all he has given me (bible, other books – my culture-experience-this awesome earth-people etc. to learn of him – with humbleness of mind.

Unity of mind – “Be still and know I am God”

I think this life is a continuing journey ended only by our physical end. So, the way I see it, I’m closer to where I want to be, but have such a long way to go. Still, the journey is so much fun!

    Hello All

I got to thinking about this post, and this song came to mind. I hope you all enjoy it.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3jlQekxvPk

I travelled to a distant shore
I felt I had to go
An inner voice had called me there
But why I did not know
I saw the evening star rise up
    Shining out to sea
And now I understand at last what it means
    What it all means

Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright

    I used to tempt fate
    I couldn’t see straight
I faltered through my younger days
Never knowing where I was going
Then something helped me penetrate the haze

Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright

    Now I am stronger
    The haze no longer
    Ruins my future destiny
    Such inspirations and new sensations
Pull up these string ties chasing me

Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright

I’m home once more, much better for
The things that I have found
Much wiser now, so simple how
    Each time I turn around
I see the evening star rise up
    Shining out on me
And now I understand at last what it means
    What it all means

Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright

Because he first loved us – Sue. You are so right, agreement does not equal truth. The word I used was unity and this comes when we meet in that spiritual dimension. It may be for just a split second – but it can be felt, uplifting each of us beyond the parameters of our carnal existence, revealing the truth that abides within us, that flows in us and through us to all mankind.
I have not sought to disagree with you, but even though we both agree on your statement, this does not take us into that ONENESS that UNITY I am talking about. We cannot even see it when operating from that head-type agreement. But we are ‘aware’ of there being another way. So, it is a good example of the ‘awareness’ we have of the two worlds we operate from – that spirit of Elijah is flowing, showing us the difference between them. You are loved Sue!

I still operate a lot from the old way but I am also convinced that we as humans must come together on an entirely different way of approaching each other. Our search for truth must begin by trusting that we already have it and that this truth is not something any one person or group of people can claim as their own but rather it is a truth that transcends this body of clay we currently live in.

  20. Audreyon 12 Jan 2009 at 5:39 pm link comment

I felt that Cliff – it resonated within me, and ‘transcends’ is a wonderful word to use for describing where it takes us. We have not arrived as yet – these are gliimpses, little gifts Father is giving us to say ‘ hey little children, keep on going, you are on the right track’. All of us are together in this, none behind and none in front – this journey is entirely different – in a different sphere – from any we have been on before, and we are learning each from the other to go deeper within ourselves.

“What are some signs in your life that make you think you are moving closer to your destiny?” (Cliff)

I guess I am wondering what the destiny is? A better life? heaven? heaven on earth? Peace on this planet? Peace in my life? Life fulfillment? Having all my goals in life? Destiny can be so many things.

I am happy to be having the privelege to live by the teachings and having them help in the change in the direction of my life. I am happy about that – very contented by that. I just have to keep on finding the beauty of life and how I can be involved. The teachings have given me a great foundation for that – life can be beautiful.
