Imagine!

Sue called me the other day to wish me happy birthday and in our conversation she was telling me about one of her favorite songs by John Lennon "Imagine".  I went down to my office to listen to the song as it is also one of mine but as I listened to it anew I was overwelmed with the idea that this is the very reason Jesus Christ means so much to me.  He came to give us fresh wine skins, to free us from old stagnat thought, and take us to a place (spiritually) where we could IMAGINE.  Thanks Sue for reminding me of such a powerful song.

Geo & I were discussing this a few weeks back how Lennon really pegged the essence of the Kingdom with “Imagine”. Hats off to John, but Randy Crawford & the Crusaders gave that song some good lovin as well IMHO.

…’and the world will live as ONE’ That phrase thrills me again and again. UNDERNEATH, this is what we all desire. It cannot happen through doctrine, religion, reading the bible, tradition, education, experience or social mores. It’s GOT to come from a new dimension readily available to us without trying, and indeed it IS available already, and has been since time began, but we are just so ‘hooked’ into believing through the soul part of us (our mind, our will and our 5 senses) that we are unable to ’see it’. From this standpoint, our worldly value system, we are BLIND. We THINK we see but we see inverted, and back-to-front. It opens to us a world of judgment, of desert, thorns, thistles and death. That system though we’ve tried to make it work, will NEVER work. No matter how much ‘good’ we try to do in that realm, it will always fall short because it has that inevitable bias – it’s doomed to die. It’s like the white butterflies settling on the cabbages in the greengrocers. They’ve chosen the wrong source of life for their eggs. It looks good, feels good, smells good, has that crisp squeaky sound but it has NO ROOT. It has been cut off from its life source and the butterfly offspring are doomed to die, even if they reach the larvae stage. We too have put our hopes and dreams into a system that is cut off from the life-source and has NEVER worked, even though much of it LOOKS so good.
    .
But, a new and living way has been provided – we are beginning to feel it through those ‘awareness of life within’ travailings. We feel a movement deep within when a song that touches our spirit, we see a clip from a film or an advertisement on TV that touches something deep within, or we receive a smile that touches our hearts, or we glimpse that ONENESS, that UNITY waiting for us, and that unborn growing child (our REAL selves) responds. For too long we’ve lived in a counterfeit identity, thinking we are that one we see in the mirror. But, our REAL identity is within us, waiting to be birthed – it was created IN that creative WORD before time began. In Him we live, we move and we have our identity – the same substance as the creator, omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience. It’s prepared and waiting for us to birth, all available through ‘metanoia and follow me’ (Christ).

Thanks Audrey. I really want to use the great imagination that has been given to us all to envision a world where we see our oneness. I too am convinced this will never be done through doctrine, religion, reading the bible, tradition, education, experience or social mores. With saying that it doesn’t mean those areas of our life can not be of value, but I want to learn to use all those areas on a different level that will help realize unity not division.

I don’t see any part of our life being wasted, all will be turned to good, even the things we presently regret. Our real identity, being one with the creator will draw up from the rich soil of our humanity those necessary nutrients for the spirit’s growth and reproduction. Except the seed dies, it remains alone, but when it dies the new growth will bring a harvest of fruit, some 40, some 60 and some a hundred-fold.
