In Loving Memory of Caitlin

Bridge Over Troubled Water live in 1969.

When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I’m on your side. when times get rough
And friends just cant be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

When you’re down and out,
When you’re on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
Ill take your part.
When darkness comes
And pains is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.

Sail on silver girl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
Im sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.

Thank you for posting this about Caitlin.
The sweet hugs from your family were comforting today.
The thought of Cliff holding Caitlin tight up in heaven was a wonderful image for me.
Her violent death is haunting me and I have not been able to make sense of it yet.
I keep praying I will wake up and it will all be a nightmare.
I know your family felt this for many weeks. I have only had a little over a day to comprehend that my sweet baby girl will never again be with me.
I have a hard time not being mad at God. then last night with the thunderstorms, I realized that God is mad also. I felt his angry as I watched the storm. This is not God’s doing. This is from the evil of the world. God wanted so much better for her.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers for me and my family.

    Colleen,
We love you all so much. I think of my baby girl in times like this and I can’t imagine your pain, but I do know the pain of death and we will be here for you. I truly believe my Father was with her in the midst of it all and took away her fear and gave her peace. This is so hard for us to understand, but please know that she is not afraid anymore. She has her wings now and she is watching over us.
    I love you,
    Mindy

For all of you reading this know that Colleen is the Mother of Caitlin. Caitlin’s life was taken yesterday. Colleen is also the Mother to Bridget and Heather. Bridget is my Brother’s(Cliff III) wife. Bridget is an amazing sister-in-law and to be honest I prefer to call her sister. Please keep all of them in your thoughts at this time.

You and your family are the musical ones–
I know I want to thank Amy for agreeing to sing “In My Daughter’s Eyes” for Caitlin’s funeral Sunday–
Can I ask for suggestions for other songs- do you have Bridge Over Troubled Waters- I don’t have many CDs-
Thanks for any help you can give

    Thankfully

    Colleen

PS: For those who do not know my daughter was taken in a murder/suicide yesterday and I am trying with all my might to get through this-She was only 21 and heading for a full productive life–Thank you for your thoughts and prayers
I am comforted by thoughts of her not being in fear anymore and being with a calm influence like Cliff now.

We have many wonderful songs. I do have Bridge Over Troubled Water and many more. I just wish we could do more. I will be thinking of you tonight…

P.S. Another one that is making me think of Caitlin is Billy Joel’s “Lullabye” (Goodnight, My Angel)
If you go to http://www.youtube.com and search that song you will be able to hear it.

    Colleen,
Another one to search is by Elton John, “Blessed”. I use to sing it all the time when I found out I was going to have a baby.

Much love to you, Colleen. I cannot imagine what you are going through. May God’s loving arms surround you and His peace comfort and sustain you. May you meet the days ahead with a peace and courage that passes understanding.

Oh, Colleen, I do not know you, but my heart is pained for you. May you be blessed in the days ahead by the sweet presence of your friends and family. May you be comforted in knowing that your daughter is being loved by those who have gone on before. May you find reassurance in knowing that your daughter is in the loving arms of God Himself.
