Wow.. If that dont make you want to dance the happy dance I dont know what will!
OH btw, Good luck to my southern cousins at the national championship game tonight… goooo CRIMPSON TIDE!
Roll Tide Roll!!!
Mike Williams…That weekend was one I will never forget because of the tears in my Fathers eyes and the smile on his face all at once on the drive home. It was a precious moment. One of those moments where my heart was filled with so much love for my Dad that I thought my heart was just going to explode. You gave him soo much that weekend. He was so proud!! Dad had always believed we didn’t need to fear God and he believed that love would never fail and it was all he ever wanted to preach about. Your message was incredible. You are a beautiful man with a beautiful heart and you hold a special place in the hearts of the Hazelbaker’s. We love you.
All of my life it seemed like every time I would whine about something a little bit, whether I complained about my washing machine being broke or that my wife was mad at me cause I watched to much football on Sunday, there would be someone that would step up… put his hand on my shoulder…and say “Don’t worry son, God wont give you more than you can handle”, and I would think, well I hope he knows more about washing machine repair then I do, or I hope he will help me cook supper cause I know im on my own till my wife is over her mad.
Then I was thinking about what God did with Jesus, and I thought that seemed like more then what anybody could handle, and even Jesus must have thought so for awhile, or he wouldn’t have ask God if he had forsaken him, but then at his weakest point he ask God to forgive us. So maybe God will give man more then he thinks he can bear, and only at his weakest point will he find the strength in his heart he needs.
2 Corinthians 12:9
9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Yea know, I think after 2000 years we still don’t “Know what we are doing”, but Jesus is sitting there on the right side of God saying to him “Lets keep forgiving them”.
Love always
Ps ( glory to the Tide)
In the book “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle I read a part that I think goes well with Dougs comment about giving us more than we can handle. He writes: “The source of all abundance is not outside you. It is part of who you are.”
The law that outflow determines inflow is expressed by Jesus in this powerful image: Luke 6:38 (New International Version)
“38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
I believe it is important for man to understand that in order for us to receive the things that we need we have to give it to the world. When we are at walmart and the line is long and we have been waiting for a lifetime it seems to reach the clerk and we turn and see a young teenage kid with a cart that is filled with a few items and he looks at us and simply smiles. We should ask ourselves, Do we invite him to move in front of us? Or do we simply take our turn and ignore the moment that life gave us to give to someone else? Most of the time we ignore the moment, but in order for us to feel praised, appreciated, loved and whatever else we are in need of we should put out into the world what we would like to get back…the circle of life is incredible if we take the time to recognize it.
This segment Mike Williams speaks of reminds me so much of a time in my life several years ago when i took a customer with me to help him by a vehicle wholesale. This particular customer was an elderly man who had been a missionary preacher in Mexico for 40 years. To do my job and receive my fee required that i would spend several hour in a car driving him to different locations and assist him in finding the vehicle of his choice.
We hadn’t been in my car ten miles the first day before i heard him say to me “Have you found your Lord and savior?”, and i knew it was going to be a long day. I responded with a simple, “I think im OK with God”, but that wasn’t even close to enough answer for him.
He preached to me for the next two days. As i reminded myself that my goal was to take from him the Paco’s he stole from his Mexican congregating, as we searched for that perfect vehicle that had to be red with leather, GPS, north star, and loaded to the hilt.
His preaching would go from quiet mumbling to a loud rhythmic cadence in which he would kinda suck in a little sup of air between words .. kinda like James Brown singing “I feel good”, he would ask me to pray with him every little but i would tell him im good you go ahead, and keep driving.
I finally got my job done, and as he left my office he said your a good man brother Doug, and God loves you, and i thought HE BETTER!
lOVE ALWAYS
I have always reacted to those that wanted to share there God with me similar to the way i did with the Mexican missionary, not being hateful(there was a part of me that wanted to pull my car over and send him walking back to Mexico) but simply letting them know that i was OK, and didnt need there help to know it.
I think the reason i have always been that way is because even before my father, or my brother felt it, they were telling me, from there heart that God loves me, and my dumb ass heard it even before they knew what they were saying, or i knew what it meant.
Luv you Dad, love yah Lishy
Mc says: Man looks at yesterday for truth, but a cat looks at tomorrow.
I love my little Sufi student.
Dam cat
As man judges himself and others by what they have become, he stifles the nonjudgmental beauty of what they are.
Love Always
Oh YEAH, LAST THOUGHT….This is day five for me as a non smoker, and God told me in a dream last night, as JESUS sit to his right smokin a big boggie, that all smokers are going to Hell!
Not trying to be judgemental… just sayin..
Love Doug
Im kinda in one of them withdraw non smoker headache moods, where i want to ask those what if, how bout, what yah think questions. Mike williams will talk to you about the heaven he thinks he will know, and he he will tell you he thought it was something he would feel with his last breath, but he thinks it may be something more then that… hum
It seems to me that even Jesus didnt have a clue what was going to happen to him before he died, so how can i know? it dont seem like you get a seat in heaven just cause you die, if anything Gods telling us we wont die, so how many times do we do this dance before we are resurrected and born again… hum sounds crazy dont it, but the beautiful part of the thought is that God will wait as long as it take, and will dance to the end of love to feel you in his arms.
I think im a little closer to sitting in the arms of God then most of you cause i quit smokin, but if im wrong i hope next time around im not a cat.
Love the truth
